When you play music at work, people will be divided by their reactions.
Some people might be annoyed with why are there any music being played, and some would just shrug it off and continue working.
Truth is, when you play music at work, it creates a different effects to people. Some will be relaxed and be more focused on work, while other – most of the time – people can easily get distracted when there is a tune being played on the radio and can be heard everywhere. So think twice before you decide on pushing the play button.
Here are some tips you can follow when you really want to play music at work:
1.) If loud music can really keep you going, you might want to invest on an earphone. Loud music can be very effective in keeping your gears up, especially if the work is making you stay overnight. But be considerate with your office mates (that is if you do not work alone). And hello, earphone has been existing since Da Vinci so are not really going to have a hard time looking for one. And it is incredibly affordable.. well most of it.
2.) If you really don’t want to keep the music in the confines of your ear, listening to light music should be good. So, the earphone does not fit you well. But having a very very ho-hum office is draining the wits out of your brain. What to do? Pop in a music, but be sure to pop in some music that doesn’t hurt anyone’s eardrum. Light jazz or Bossa Nova are good examples, if you are into it. Much better if you are going to play instrumental music, because singing along to the song can affect focus. And try to put it in the lowest volume possible, enough that you are going to be the only one who can hear, but not too low that you are going to stick your ears on the speakers. Keyword: light and low.
So these are just two tips that I can suggest you can do when you want to play music at work. That is if it is allowed in your office to play music at all. Music can bring motivation to you while it can affect somebody else’s performance. So it is much better to consider first before you play that music, DJ.
